How to book the Alberta HCA exam

The booking process trips people up more than the exam does, mostly because of the testing windows.

The exam does not run continuously

Testing windows fall in February, April, June, August, October and December. If you miss a window you wait for the next one, so work backwards from the window you want rather than booking when you feel ready.

Where you sit it

At an approved Meazure Learning test centre. A list of test site cities is published with the booking information. Centre hours vary, and candidates are expected to arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled start.

What it costs

Per attempt
$200 plus GST
Credit card
Through the HCA Directory Portal
E-transfer
To finance@clpna.com with your full name and Directory number — allow up to two business days to post

Accommodations

Examination accommodations are available and are arranged in advance through the regulator, not on the day. If you need one, start that conversation before you book a window.

Questions about booking go to hcaexam@clha.com. We are not the exam administrator and cannot book, reschedule or look up an attempt for you.
